Privacy Statement

Welcome to Parcel Wizard. We take your privacy seriously and have set out our privacy statement below to keep you up to date on what information we gather about you and how we use that information.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation, we (Interlink Ireland Limited, trading as DPD Ireland) are the "data controller" of your personal data.

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Statement from time to time at our sole discretion. If we make any changes, we will post those changes here and update the “Last Updated” date at the bottom of this Privacy Statement. However, if we make material changes to this Privacy Statement, we will notify you by means of a prominent notice on the website prior to the change becoming effective and, where practical, email you directly to notify you of the changes. Please review this Privacy Statement periodically for any updates.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Parcel Wizard website or the Parcel Wizard App (collectively the Websites) or services.

Capitalised terms used in this Privacy Statement have the meaning given to them in our Terms and Conditions of Use of DPD Services Terms & Conditions.

Please give a copy of this Privacy Statement to anyone whose personal data you give to us.

1            How we gather your information:

Depending on how you use the Websites, we will gather and store different types of information about you, depending on whether you: (i) contact us, (ii) are an unregistered visitor or (iii) are a registered user.

(i) Contacting us

If you to write to, call or email us, we will use your contact details to respond to you and will keep a record of your correspondence with us.

(ii) Unregistered Visitor

If you are browsing the Parcel Wizard site as a visitor we may gather anonymous information about how you navigate and use our site. We gather this information through dropping "cookies (for more information see our "Cookies" section below). We will use this information to improve the functioning and user-friendliness of the site and so that we can keep track of traffic on the site.

(iii) Registered Users

As part of the Parcel Wizard registration process we will ask you to provide information that is necessary to set up your account and to provide the Parcel Wizard service to you. This will include personal data such as your name, address, contact details and delivery preferences.

If you are a registered user of the Parcel Wizard service, we will try to match the information provided by you to your consignor with our Parcel Wizard user database. For example if you provide your Parcel Wizard ID to the consignor, this will alert our system that a consignment is being delivered to your account.  We will match this consignment to your account.

On matching a consignment to a Parcel Wizard User, we record the consignment and data associated with the consignment on the Parcel Wizard Users account.  This will include personal information which you have provided to the consignor, for example an addressee name, a preferred address, email or phone number. Matching consignment data in this way allows us to more efficiently provide the Parcel Wizard Services. We only match consignment data to your account to assist us in providing the Parcel Wizard services to you.

2            The Type of Data We Collect

We collect the following personal data:

                    i.         Your name,

                   ii.         Your home address;

                  iii.        Your preferred addresses for delivery;

                  iv.        Your telephone number(s);

                   v.        Your email address;

                  vi.        You credit card and/or PayPal details;

                 vii.         Records of when you engaged with Parcel Wizard and the Websites including call information, server logs, IP addresses, device information. If you contact us we keep a record of that correspondence.

3            How we use your PERSONAL DATA and our legal basis for doing so

In identifying this basis, we have weighed our legitimate interest as a business against your rights and freedoms and determined that that it will not unfairly impact your rights. Please note that you have a right to object to processing of your personal data where that processing is carried on for our legitimate interest.

To keep track of your use of Parcel Wizard account to build up a picture of how you use our service on the whole.

Protect against, identify and prevent fraud and other criminal activity, claims and other liabilities

To manage and administer legal and compliance affairs

To fulfil our legal obligations including by providing information to RevenueCommissioners, Customs authorities or law enforcement authorities

This use of your information is necessary in order for us to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations.

To send you marketing communications about offers, products and services that you might be interested in from DPD companies and from our trusted third party partners

This use of your information is done on the basis that you have consented to such use.

 

Where we use your information on the basis of your consent, you have the right to subsequently withdraw that consent at any time (by contacting us using the details below).

To use certain cookies which will identify your individual details in order to monitor how our customers use the our Websites (see our Cookies Policy for further details).

To communicate about, and administer your participation in, special events, programmes, surveys, contests

Please do not share your Parcel Wizard login details with anyone else. You will be responsible for any activity from your Parcel Wizard account and we will always assume that you are in sole control of the account. We will not be liable to you for any third party's activity from your account unless we are at fault.

4            Who we Share your personal data with:

We share your personal data with the following recipients:

      i.        Other members of the DPD Group

     ii.        Members of the DPD Depot Network as listed here https://dpd.ie/About-DPD/DPD-Depot-Finder

    iii.        GPS coordinates service providers such as Google Maps

    iv.        Online Payments Providers such as Sage Pay and Paypal

     v.        Email services providers

    vi.        SMS service providers such as EngageHub

   vii.        IT service providers for the maintenance of the Parcel Wizard Websites and services such as Inventise, Software Design, DNN, Apple, Google Playstore, MySQL, and Progress

  viii.         Direct marketing service providers such as  Trustpilot and Campaign Monitor

    ix.        Accountants

     x.        Auditors

    xi.        Legal Advisors

   xii.        Revenue Commissioners, customs authorities or law enforcement authorities (including the Gardaí)

Other than as set out above we will not share your information with third parties without your consent.

5            Storing Information

We are committed to keeping your personal data safe and secure and we employ appropriate technical and organisational security measures to prevent unauthorised access to your personal data.

We keep different types of personal data for different periods of time. Where you open an account with us we will keep the personal data associated with that account until otherwise requested to delete it.

Contracts: Where we enter into a Contract with you, we will retain the personal data obtained in connection with the Contract for as long as is necessary to:

•       perform our obligations under the Contract;

•       comply with our legal obligations (e.g.' customs regulations); and

•       exercise our legal rights and defend legal claims.

Typically this will require that we hold such data for a period of 7 years from the date on which that the Contract is terminated.

Deactivated Accounts: You can deactivate your account at any time. Where you deactivate your account, we will retain the personal data associated with the account for three years so that you can reactivate it, unless you request that we delete account.

Cookies: Through the cookies on our Websites we obtain certain personal data associated with your use of the Websites, such as your I.P address which we retain for 7 days after you leave the Websites. For more information on our use of Cookies please see our Cookies Policy Cookies.

6            Your rights in respect of your information

You have several rights in relation to your personal data. In each case, these rights are subject to restrictions as laid down by law. The following is a summary of your rights:

·         Right to request access to your personal data (commonly known as a "data subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it;

·         Right to request rectification of the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected;

·         Right to request erasure of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal data where you have exercised your right to object to processing (see below);

·         Right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal data about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it;

·         Right to object to processing of your personal data where we are relying on a legitimate interest and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground. This includes any profiling of your personal data which is done on the basis of our legitimate interests. You also have the right to object where we are processing your personal data for direct marketing purposes;

·         Right to data portability enables you to request the transfer of your personal data to another party;

·         Right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your information at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal; and

·         Right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner or with the data protection authority in the Member State of your residence, place of work or place of an alleged infringement, if you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR.

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us (see Contact Details below). We will respond to your request within one month. That period may be extended by two further months where necessary, taking into account the complexity and number of requests. We will inform you of any such extension within one month of receipt of your request. We may request proof of identification to verify your request. We have the right to refuse your request where there is a basis to do so in law, or if it is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or to the extent necessary for important objectives of public interest.

7            Our basis for requiring information

If DPD Ireland cannot process the necessary personal information, it may be difficult, impossible, or unlawful for us to give you advice on or provide you with our services.

If DPD Ireland ask you to provide your personal information, we will explain whether it is a legal or contractual requirement that we use such information and if you do not wish to give your information to us, RCI will explain the consequences based on the specific information concerned.
